CMIT North High School proudly welcomed Congressman Glenn Ivey for an exciting school tour, where he met with staff, leadership teams, students, our principal Ms. Gonul Ozturk and the Chesapeake lighthouse foundation CEO, Yilmaz Ak.. His visit highlighted the school’s dedication to academic excellence, STEM education, and leadership development.
During his tour, Congressman Ivey explored CMIT North’s STEM labs, classrooms, and extracurricular programs. He learned about the school’s strong partnerships with NASA, the U.S. Naval Academy, the University of Maryland, the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, and the Society for Science. Students showcased their achievements in VEX Robotics, Science Olympiad, Student Government, National Honor Society, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), and various other clubs, emphasizing CMIT North’s well-rounded approach to education.
His visit energized students and staff, reinforcing CMIT North’s mission to prepare future leaders in STEM and beyond. The school looks forward to continued collaborations that will empower students to thrive academically and professionally.
